The Squamish Music Festival is packing a real punch this year! Back for the fifth year, the lineup features three of the world’s top musical artists: Eminem, Bruno Mars and Arcade Fire as well as a number of other artists that reflect what is happening in the music world right now. The 2014 Squamish Festival is going to takes place on August 8-10 at the Logger Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields There will be an amazing mix of artists from around the globe alongside the best emerging talent from our own backyard. So who are we talking about? Well, three of my favourite artists that are going to be performing are Foster the People with theirpumped up kicks and Serena Ryder will Stompa her feet and we will learn what she wouldn’t do to keep us entertained, and knowing that she’ll never drown even though she will be in a huge sea of fans! A group that I am looking forward to seeing – and hoping that their live performances can somehow match up to their youtube videos, is Walk Off the Earth. While their original claims to fame came from creative covers of current videos, Walk Off the Earth became a sensation when their “five people one guitar” version of Gotye’s “somebody that I used to know” went viral. While they still make great cover videos, the gang has also moved into original territory with Red Hands.
