Halloween in Squamish

Published on

Halloween in Squamish is a fantastic time, whether you choose to get involved in the events and activities or spend it dressing up and trick or treating.

You will always see decorations in windows and friendly locals ready to greet you. This year there are a number of fun events taking place for people of all ages.

Here is what’s happening for Halloween in Squamish:

Britannia Mine train rides and activities

The Britannia Mine Museum is hosting a spooky, fun-packed weekend of Halloween events. There will be spooky science shows, interactive activities, a costume booth, arts and crafts, games and a haunted train ride!

The festivities will be taking place between 11am-3pm over the weekend of the 31st and all are welcome.

The special Halloween “are you afraid of the dark?” train ride takes you into the creepy underground tunnel at the mine. This is for all those aged six and up and costs $15 for adults and $10 for children.

The magic pumpkin patch

The Mystery of the Magic Pumpkin Patch train ride takes you and your family on a mini Halloween train ride. Get dressed up and in the spirit of the season as you journey towards the magic pumpkin patch.

Once you get to the patch you can search for your very own pumpkin to draw on and carve. There will also be plenty of treats, games and crafts.

The train ride takes your family to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park where the pumpkins are located. Here you will learn the legend of the magic pumpkin before getting to pick and carve your own jack-o-lantern.

Train rides will be taking place from October 26-30.

Trick or treat

It just wouldn’t be Halloween without trick or treat. The Squamish communities always embrace the spirit of the day and take part, so get dressed up and head out. Remember to always be safe though and go in groups of two or more or with a responsible adult.

The Sea to Sky Gondola is also hosting a trick or treat event for children. Those taking part are encouraged to wear their costumes and explore the Spirit Trail.

There will be trick or treat bag making, face painting, a scavenger hunt and tons of seasonal surprises!

Trick or treating is taking place from 1-4pm on October 24 and admission is free with Gondola lift tickets or season passes.
