A Small Adventure
There are plenty of mini adventures to be had all over the town, with lots of little walks that aren’t too full on. For the biggest reward though, check out the new Sea-to-Sky Gondola for breathtaking views of the valley. This is sure to be an adventure you won’t forget! If you don’t fancy heights but still want to get out and explore, why not try your hand at one of the fastest growing sports in North America – Disc Golf (or frisbee golf). Find out everything you need to know on the Professional Disc Golf Association Website.
Hiking, Biking and Much More
Where to begin? As already mentioned, Squamish is the outdoor recreation capital of Canada and as such you are spoilt for choice of things to do. Whether it’s hiking, biking, rafting or wind surfing there is something here to keep even the most adventuress entertained. Even if you do not take part in wind surfing, the drive along the spit to the mouth of the Squamish River at the end of Howe Sound will leave you with an amazing sense of wonder. Then to watch the surfer flip and turn at high speed all under brightly coloured sails is an incredible site to see. Whatever you choose to do you will not be disappointed and will return home with a smile on your face! Stop off at the Squamish Adventure Centre for more details or check out their website.
If there’s one thing Squamish is famous it’s climbing. Boasting some of the best climbing in North America, visitors from all over the world flock to the town every year to enjoy the rock. The biggest attraction comes in the form of the Stawamus Chief, the second largest granite monolith in the world. Here climbers have enough routes to occupy them for years, let alone a day trip!
