Squamish Rocked and yes it is good for Real Estate

Published on

Last weekend we had Squamish Rocks and it was by all accounts a good time.  It did start out with a bit of a bump with a car accident on the Sea to Sky Highway just around Lions Bay.  However, once they got that sorted out, the weekend went smoothly. This year the event was headlined by the Tragically Hip on Saturday, a solidly Canadian band that I enjoyed in my youth and still enjoy today.  Attendance was pegged at a solid 12,000 people in the Loggers sports grounds.   We also had some new up and comers like the Sheepdogs and Wintersleep from back east (okay Sheepdogs are from Saskatoon, but it is all back east from here).  It was also a full family affair with a silent disco, mascots, stilt walkers etc… to entertain the kids.

So why would a real estate rompany selling Squamish  plug and be excited about a rock festival?  Well it is people coming to Squamish and enjoying themselves, loving the place and understanding the commute back to Vancouver isn’t that bad.  Okay Saturday wasn’t a great example of that, but I digress.  The more people come to see Squamish for the lifestyle that is close to Vancouver, but also not Vancouver, the more people will come and buy our wonderful product.  They will come for the concerts, the rock climbing, the hiking, the mountain biking and then look at the schools, the shopping and maybe decide to stay.  They will look to buy property, such as a lot in the new Crumpit Woods subdivision, or perhaps your home that you are selling through one of our excellent realtors.  So a great rock concert is good for Real Estate.
Squamish Rocked and that is good for everyone in Squamish.
